Mr Gutnick has been the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since March 1988.

Mr Gutnick has been a Director of listed public companies since 1980 and is currently Chairman and Managing Director of four listed public companies, all of which are in Australia. He was also Executive Chairman of a Canadian Corporation listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He headed the teams that were responsible for the discovery, development and operation of several world class gold mines in Australia.

Mr Gutnick is a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining Metallurgy, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Member of the Institute of Company Directors in Australia, a former Director of the World Gold Council and was awarded the Diggers Award at the 1997 Australian Diggers and Dealer's Conference in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the exploration and mining industry.

Dr Tyrwhitt was appointed a Director of the Company in November 1996.

Dr Tyrwhitt is a geologist, holding a Bachelor of Science and has more than 40 years' experience in the mineral exploration and management development and operation of gold mines in Australia. He worked for over 20 years with Newmont Mining Corporation in Australia, South East Asia and the United States. During this time, he was responsible for the discovery of the Telfer Gold Mine in Western Australia. He was Chief Executive of Newmont Australia Limited between 1984 and 1988 and Chief Executive Officer of Ashton Mining Limited between 1988 and 1991. He established his own consultancy in 1991 and worked with Normandy Mining Limited on a number of mining projects in South East Asia.

Mr Peter Lee

Mr Lee has been Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer since August 1989 and was appointed a Director of the Company in February 1996.

Mr Lee has over 20 years of experience in accounting, company secretarial and commercial fields both in Australia and overseas. He has been involved in the development and introduction of a range of corporate issues including registration of several companies in the United States, chairing due diligence committees, preparation of prospectuses, project management, preparation of annual reports, and organisation and control of annual general meetings. Prior to his involvement with the company, he spent six years with Price Waterhouse in Melbourne and Papua New Guinea.

Mr Lee is currently General Manager Corporate and Company Secretary of several listed public companies in Australia. He is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, a Fellow of the Chartered Secretaries Australia Ltd, a Member of the Institute of Company Directors in Australia and holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Mr Craig Alford

Mr Alford is a seasoned exploration geologist with 20 years of gold exploration experience. He holds a Masters degree with Commendation in Geology from Lakehead University. He has extensive exploration experience in many commodities, including gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc, oil and diamonds.

Mr Alfords exploration experience is throughout Canada and several other countries including Venezuela, Guyana, Chile, Argentina, Suriname and Kyrgyzstan.

Mr Alford has worked for some of the world's largest gold mining companies, including as a geological consultant for Placer Dome. In addition, he has worked with the Geologic Survey of Canada.
